There is no doubt that our world has changed in the face of the COVID-19 global pandemic. Self-isolation. Physical distancing. Shortage of COVID-19 testing kits and shortages of much needed personal protection equipment – world wide. Yes, these are uncertain times. There is one thing that we do know – that exercize is good for you both physically and mentally. Many people need to walk on a daily basis “doctor’s orders” to maintain their health. What to do when we are being asked to “stay at home”.
At Cherish, we put on our personal protective gear (masks and gloves) and head out to the beach. Featured here is Nicole Mann, guiding a group of active Cherish seniors, getting some fresh air and staying 6 feet away from everyone, except Mr. Sunshine! At Cherish we are proud to say that our people are without any flu of any kind, including COVID-19. This is not by accident. All influenza is bad for seniors. Every year we start flu season protocols in mid-January and are working closely with our seniors every single day to keep our building disease free. Clearly, all activities have been cancelled where physical distancing is not possible and our dining room is closed, but we are being creative. Our great food is delivered by room service twice daily, on us! The Belvedere Bistro is open, and with appropriate safety protocols in place, is happy to serve fresh coffee, croissants and muffins still warm from the oven and a multitude of other goodies twice daily. Need something at the store? No problem – let us get that for you!
