Culture of Caring

Dear Micky,

Over the past year we have had the pleasure of visiting our mom, Sonia, at her home with Cherish at Central Park.  Through that time, we have seen her cognitive abilities continue to decline and as a result her care needs escalated to the point that she required more advanced services in another setting and needed to leave Cherish.  

This is a just a brief note to reach out to you and your team and on behalf of our mom and our entire family to thank-you for the wonderful support and caring you provided for her over the past year.  While your residence itself is wonderful, the quality of an organization is based upon the skills of the people and the dedication they bring to excellence.  Your team has that dedication. Through our mom’s time with you, we were constantly impressed with the gentle and compassionate approach that was on display every day.  Your front office staff are amazing, and this culture of caring was evident everywhere, from the dining room staff through to the activity coordinators and beyond.

While Sonia’s memory challenges prevented her from remembering events or anticipating new ones, her time engaging socially with your team and with other residents who also took care of her, increased her quality of life immeasurably.  The ability to shift her from a position of anxiety and confusion to one where she felt connected to her surroundings was greatly appreciated.

We hope that this note in some small way conveys our appreciation for all you did, and that you know that despite not being a “care” facility, the compassion of your team has also alleviated a considerable amount of stress for us as a family. Should you ever require further testimonial statements from us we would be happy to provide them.
